Are you planning to study, work, or migrate to countries like the UK, Canada, Australia, or New Zealand? Then the IELTS exam could be a key part of your journey. The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) is one of the most trusted English language proficiency tests in the world—and it’s your gateway to global opportunities.

What is the IELTS?

IELTS (International English Language Testing System) is a standardized test that measures the English language skills of non-native speakers. It assesses your ability to understand, speak, read, and write English in real-world, academic, or work settings.

It is accepted by over 12,000 organizations in more than 140 countries, including universities, immigration authorities, employers, and professional bodies.

The IELTS exam is jointly conducted by IDP Education, Cambridge English, and the British Council (until July 2021—currently IDP is the exclusive provider in India).

It’s commonly taken by:

  • Students applying to foreign universities

  • Professionals seeking work abroad

  • Individuals immigrating to English-speaking countries

Types of IELTS Exams

There are multiple IELTS formats depending on your goals and location:

IELTS Academic: For students applying to undergraduate, postgraduate, or professional registration.

IELTS General Training: For work, migration, or training programs in English-speaking countries.

IELTS for UKVI: For students and workers applying specifically for UK visas (meets UK Home Office requirements).
