Are you dreaming of studying abroad in the US, UK, Canada, Australia, or Europe? Then there’s a good chance the TOEFL will be part of your journey. Whether you’re aiming for academic admission or migration, the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) is one of the most widely accepted English proficiency tests worldwide—and it’s your passport to global opportunities.

What is the TOEFL?

TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) is a standardized English language test that measures your ability to use and understand English at the university level. It is accepted by over 13,000 institutions across more than 160 countries—including the United States, Canada, the UK, Germany, Ireland, Australia, and more.

This test is conducted by ETS (Educational Testing Service) and is designed for:

  • Students applying to universities in English-speaking countries.

  • Professionals and individuals seeking immigration or career opportunities abroad.

  • Anyone needing to demonstrate academic or professional English proficiency.

Types of TOEFL Exams

There are different ways you can take the TOEFL, depending on your preference and convenience:

TOEFL iBT (Internet-Based Test)

The most common version. You can take it:

  • At an official test center

  • At home (Home Edition)

🏠 TOEFL iBT Home Edition

The same test as the iBT but taken from home under live online proctoring. Ideal for students who prefer a flexible or remote testing experience.

📄 TOEFL iBT Paper Edition

Offered in two sessions:

  • Reading, Listening, and Writing at a test center (on paper)

  • Speaking on a computer at home

Exam Format and Duration

The TOEFL iBT measures your skills across four sections:
